About the Repairs...
Can the insurance company require me to go to their drive-in claims center for an estimate on my vehicle?
No. You have the right to have your vehicle damages settled at the shop of your choice. Just arrange to have your vehicle inspected at AutoFix.
How long will my repair take?
We will give you a delivery date based on the labor hours required for the total repair. We will keep you updated with our personalized Update Promise texting system.
I don't understand the difference between aftermarket, recycled and original manufacturer parts?
Original Manufacturer - Parts made and sold by your vehicle maker. Body parts usually have a one year warranty.
Aftermarket - Parts made by an independent company-usually overseas. Many of these parts come with certifications. Body parts usually have a lifetime warranty.
Recycled - Parts that are taken off of another total loss vehicle. Body parts usually have a 60 day warranty.
The insurance company took a betterment on my car? What is this?
Insurance companies are required to return your vehicle to its pre-accident condition but they do not have to make your car better than before the accident. Wearable parts such as tires, batteries and suspension may be given a betterment or a percent reduction based on how far the part is into its life. For example: a tire that is $100.00 new and 20% worn would require an additional payment of $20.00 from you.
I don't want aftermarket or recycled parts on my vehicle. Will my insurance company honor my wishes?
Every insurance company has their own policies. Most companies have a 24 month-24,000 mile exception to their aftermarket parts rules. We always prefer original manufacturer parts and because of our vehicle manufacturer certifications, we can often upgrade the insurance specified non-original parts to NEW Genuine. This is at NO COST TO YOU!!!
Am I entitled to a rental car while my vehicle is being repaired?
Only if you opted for rental coverage on your policy or if you are a claimant through another person's insurance. We have Hertz rental cars on-site and will put you into a vehicle that fits your policy limits.
Who do I pay my deductible to?
It is paid to your repair shop upon completion of your repairs.

What should I do if I get into an accident?
If the damage is visible and/or there are injuries, call the police. Take a photo of the scene and the position of the vehicles. The police will provide you with a field report detailing all of the pertinent information. They will also arrange for a tow truck if needed.
After an Accident...
The person who hit me wants to pay out of pocket and avoid calling the police and their insurance company. Should I do this?
Repair costs are usually much higher than anticipated and 99% of the time the repairs end up being handled through insurance. We do not recommend leaving the scene without a police report, however, if you have to, please obtain the following information:
My vehicle was towed by the police to a repair shop I do not wish to use. Am I allowed to move it?
Absolutely! Just call AutoFix and we will arrange to transfer the vehicle and pay all towing and storage charges incurred. Insurance allows and pays for these fees.
