What to look for in a collision repair facility:
- Professionalism:
- Is your repair handled in a professional manner?
- Are all of your quaestions answered in a way you can understand?
- Is there a friendly customer service support staff?
- Do they listen and empathize with your situation?
- Does the shop do just enough to complete the repair, or are they willing to go the distance in order to provide you with complete resolution and satisfaction?
- State-of-the-art Technology:
- Is the shop using the latest technology, such as computerized estimating with digital imaging, precision color matching systems and computerized unibody measuring?
- Is the shop using equipment that has the ability to repair the new materials and construction of today's modern vehicles, such as plasma cutters, HVLP (high volume low pressure) paint guns, down draft spray booth, paint prep decks, and computerized wheel alignment machines?
- Training:
- Does the facility display certificates of advanced training from ASF and I-CAR?
- Does the facility have a green NYS shop registration sign?
- Location:
- Is the shop easy to find?
- It it located in a safe neighborhood?
- Would you feel comfortable leaving your vehicle overnight at the location?
- Is there a well-lit parking lot and fenced storage yard available to you?
- Waiting Area:
- Is there an adequate seating area with reading materials and refreshments made available for your convenience?
- Cleanliness of Shop:
- Is the shop and office area neat and clean?
- Would you feel comfortable leaving your vehicle at the shop and confident that it would be returned cleaner than it arrived?
- Car Rental & Transportation:
- Does the shop have the ability to provide you with a rental car on-site?
- Will the facility give you a ride to your nearby destination?
- Claims & Warranties:
- Does the shop you choose deal successfully with every insurer and are they willing to settle your claim?
- Does the shop offer a lifetime warranty on their repairs?
Remember, in New York State, you have the right to choose where you have your car repaired!
